  5. Exceptionally Ordinary

I turned 17 yesterday; a year older but definitely not any wiser.

I appreciate all the wishes, be it face to face or via Facebook or via text. I was telling the guys in school, in about 364 days, I will finally be of legal age.

Had my birthday dinner @ Town Restaurant, The Fullerton with my family. I guess it’s ‘tradition’ I celebrate my birthday with my family on the actual day.

The variety of sashimi was good but most importantly it’s fresh. It was an international buffet, I would have preferred a seafood buffet though. It’s the usual spread - Oysters, pasta, pizza, soba, bryani, roasted duck, braised lamb… so on and so forth.

Left the restaurant at around 930 and we decided to walk along the Singapore River.

We were tourists for 30 minutes.

I have a few plans coming up this week and next. I’ve yet to catch HP7 Part II, majority of the people around me did. Hanna is out today, the 21st. Why the fuck did Saoirse Ronan bleach her eyebrows for the film? And finally, Captain America coming out on the 28th.

End of semester exams in about 3 weeks or so. Have yet to start revising on any of my 3 core modules. My 7 weeks holiday aka semester break will start tentatively on the the 24th of August, roughly in a months time.

  8. Part II

Continued from yesterday’s post, Part I:

On my way back home from Starbucks, I received a text from Anita asking if I was free for shisha cos Andreas was free. So you could say it was a rather impromptu shisha date.

And for the first time I was late, usually I’ll be the one waiting for all of them. Anyhow, we bought a pack of Kretek from the nearby convenience store. The first attempt was a failure but the second was successful.

It tastes exactly like a normal menthol cigg but with a clover after taste. And your lips will have this sweet taste. It’s definitely an acquired taste because not everyone likes the smell or taste of clove.

We got our shisha fix @ Escapade.

    SHISHA.CIGGS.BEER.SHOTS.FINGERFOOD.

5 (technically 6) words to describe my Friday night.

The shisha tasted exceptionally good; maybe because it was a really long time since we shisha-ed. Anyhow, we started updating each other about our week. We left at around 11, we then decided a place for supper. In the end, it was this place near Lavender, supposedly famous for their pig organ soup. We cabbed over and let me tell you, flagging a cab at Bugis at night can get messy.

We ordered only meatballs. I don’t really like eating pig intestines so it was rather pointless why we ate there. LOL. But I must say, the soup is tasty. Afterwhich, we sat around somewhere to intoxicate ourselves with more smoke. Finally, I cabbed back home. The cab fare last night was cheap considering the fact there was a midnight surcharge.

I wasted a perfectly good Saturday lazing around. Woke up a little later than expected, past 2PM? Went down to get lunch and pretty much worshiped my TV till it was 4PM. This is when I then decided to give service a miss and continued lazing till it was 8PM. For dinner I called McDelivery. And finally, getting on my laptop at 1AM. #sadlife

Anyhow, I would be rather busy tomrrow. Meeting up with my IS group mates at guess where… NEX! This means I can literally walk over to meet them. How fun. Meeting up to get our scripts done for the play.

If I could make another impression I would.

  9. Part I

FINALLY BACK HOME FROM OUR SHISHAFIX/SUPPER.

I’m feeling terribly intoxicated from all the smoke and I think I just shaved off a good 2 months of my life. Well, it’s not like as though I want to live past 30. #kidding.

Before I go on about today, I shall update you guys about my week.

On Monday, the fourth of July, I caught Transformers: Dark Of The Moon not in 3D, thank God. I never had good experiences with 3D movies. First I have to wear that god awful 3D glasses over my glasses and you expect me to live through that for 2 hours or more? Secondly, the ticket premium over the 2D one is definitely not worth it.

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY IS THE EPITOME OF HOT.

Her accent, her legs, her ass. I’m just keeping it real.

Who the hell said Megan Fox was hotter than her?

I hate Wednesdays the most - the timetable is completely fucked and I’ve to see the most annoying teacher for 4 hours at 8-fucking-AM. But somehow because of the lab test in the morning, class was dismissed at 1030 not 12. Oh talking about the lab test, it’s a definite fail. I barely did 1/4 of the paper - not a single clue what the paper was talking about.

Afterwhich, we ate an early lunch then head out to Clementi Central (?) for KOI. The cab ride there was enjoyable, the cabby was really chatty and he gave us a 40cent discount. Bought Ice-cream Milk tea large and off we went around to look for an iPhone cover for Chin.

The cab ride back was a totally different story. The cabbie went on this epic rage moment telling us how he thinks lawyers actually suck in English by using his wrapped theory which I don’t bother explaining to you guys because it made no fucking sense. He shouted ‘Ta Ma De’ ‘Fuck you’ and a whole other list of profanities during the cab ride.

Thursday night was practically spent with my Sis. Bonding time I must say. We wanted to play L4D2, so we planned to play at Crossfire but obviously we were not members of that place. I mean, it’s just a fucking LAN shop.

“We’re not members. Can we play for 1 hour?”

“Sorry, you must apply for membership and it takes 3 days to approve.”

    *speechless*

Fine, we then travelled down to the LAN shop at the Stadium and this was worse.

“Can we play for 1 hour?”

    “Member card?”

    “We don’t have one.”

“Oh then you have to apply for one and it takes 2 weeks to approve”

But the LAN shop was rather empty so we begged her to let us play for an hour. I doubt anyone has gone this far just to play fucking L4D2. LOL. Then we had a late dinner @ Nakhon. This place serves one of the best authentic thai food for a reasonable price. Afterwhich, we had beer at some random hawker and then finally durians @ 85. Pretty awesome durians for 6$ a packet.

Today, or should I say yesterday since it’s past 12, was enjoyable. It was super chill like how every Friday should be. Woke up real late in the morning, lucky I had my sis to drive me down to school. If not I would have to cab which will then result in a peak hour surcharge which we all know is a total bitch.

I was about 30minutes late? Not that badass. Survived through lessons from 830 - 1145 and we decided to skip the rest of the lecture and dismissed ourselves from school. Took a cab out of campus to Clementi Central yet again for lunch and… KOI. We ate at this hawker area; the western food stall is a definite must-try. The portion is huge and the price is beyond cheap.

While waiting for KOI. PS/ I’m holding a white chalk, nothing else. Something epic happened while we were lepak-ing at one corner near the KOI shop. But I’m too lazy to type it out.

Yes, I had 2 KOIs this week. It’s a bloody addiction, the passion fruit tea with aloe vera is good. Afterwhich, we went around looking for cheap and good earphones - I’m currently using the stock earpiece given by Apple which is okay just that it gets really uncomfortable after a period of time. I don’t believe in paying a premium price for earphones, my NIXON earphones broke in less than 3 months.

So suggest me a good earphone under 50$.

    Then we chilled at Starbucks:

I shall stop here for now because I think if I would to continue, this post would be way too fucking long. I shall post Part II tomorrow afternoon. If I remember…

  10. Future History

    I’m back…

Okay pretend to care if you don’t.

Anyway over the period of my hiatus:

I’ve watched two films. First Green Lantern, which sucked pretty badly. Blake Lively was the only thing worth watching. Then The Beaver which I thought was absolutely brilliant. The storyline that is.

I tried T.G.I.F, Heeren for the first time with Anita & JH. It’s on the pricey side but the portions huge.

Oh, I celebrated Colton’s 17th just last week @ Cine with the guys. It was rather chill, dinner at Burger Bench also my first time trying it. Then LAN - awesome game of CS. While playing it, memories of me playing it with the guys from school during comp lab sessions. Damn, I miss my secondary school friends.

School started and the results for my CTs came out. I must say I did pretty well for the first term of poly. 2As 1 B+ 1 B and the last one which I’m collecting tomorrow. I’m expecing a C for that or even worse.

How can I do well for that last module when the lecturer direct import from India has the most epic accent. She pronounces ‘Hinged’ as ‘Hingeee’. LOL.

I don’t really have a good reason for my hiatus. I’m guessing I lost all my readers already. Jin was telling me to dump the blog already. Still on the fence about it though.

Anyhow, I’m going to change my phone soon. I know I’ve been saying that from April and now it’s the first of July already. I’m looking at the S2 currently.

Maybe I should just wait for the upcoming Bold 9900 in September. RIM keeps pushing back the release date for the new Bold. From a ‘summer release’ now they say it’s released only in September. Is it worth the wait?

I blogged this post entirely from my iTouch on the Tumblr app which I must say is pretty neat.

PS/ My parents will be away for the whole of next week; they’re going to Taiwan for a vacation.
